President & CEO, Leadership Team
David Banno has been working on a personal and professional level to strengthen and advance the mission of Community Action for the past 30 years. Since 1994, he has held various leadership positions with Tri-County Community Action Agency and has attained a wide range of knowledge and experience in all phases of non-profit operations. His expertise includes grant management and grant writing; budgets and finance; human resources; and general program operations. He is a Nationally Certified ROMA Trainer (NCRT) and a Certified Community Action Professional (CCAP).
David’s personal mission is to eliminate individual suffering through fair and equitable access to resources and services. His personal vision is to live in a world in which all individuals are thriving and able to achieve their personal life goals.
“For over three decades, the staff, leadership, and clients of Tri-County have played a significant role in my personal and professional development,” stated David. “While I will greatly miss the friendships that I developed there, I am both honored and humbled to join the Community Action Partnership of Providence County. As the CEO, I will endeavor to lead with wisdom and compassion and I hope that together we will create an agency-wide team of diverse individuals who share a common set of values and are committed to making this Agency a leader in advancing the mission and vision of Community Action.”
David has been a resident of Johnston, RI since 2007, where he lives with his wife, Holly, and four amazing children - Leah, Sarah, Ian, and Ashlyn. David’s hobbies include reading, cooking, and community theater. He enjoys traveling and experiencing different cultures and points of view. He believes that it is the differences in people that makes society stronger and hopes to further that love of cultural diversity in his new role at CAPP.
