Special Projects Manager, Leadership Team
Cheryl is the Special Projects Manager and supports CAPP’s Basic Needs and Parent Leadership Training Institute programs, database administration and its community needs assessments. Cheryl was born and raised in Providence and received her BA in communications and business management from Rhode Island College with a self-designed concentration in nonprofit management. She is known to be a versatile, innovative, results-oriented senior manager in the nonprofit and government sectors with strengths in project, program and grants management, organizational development, strategic planning and fund development.
Throughout her career she’s been recognized for establishing the Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner’s first-ever Behavioral Health Fund, awarding $2.6 M to RI nonprofits, overseeing Health Source RI’s Outreach Initiative which was voted their best service provision during the launch of the Affordable Care Act, and producing Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular, one of RI’s renowned events. Prior to joining CAPP, she worked at the RI Office of the Health Insurance Commissioner, the Providence Plan, Big Sisters of RI and the RI Zoological Society.
